about

Tracks Time Total: 20:07

Calm Callings EP can be considered somewhat of an extended play or treated as a sampler, along with my previous "Unofficial Release" "Nature's Calling EP", that can take you on an escape into a trance or dreamscape through its soundscapes and distant airy sounding synths.

Enjoy a fair amount of songs that were inspired by some of Electronic Music's greats: Brian Eno, Christophe Franke, Edgar Froese, Jean Michel Jarre, Klaus Schulze, Kraftwerk, and so on just to name a few of my inspirations. Some may consider these tracks to be simplistic and minimal or complex and unpredictable at heart.

Disclaimer:

Just to let you know going into this EP / Sampler, as this being an Unofficial Release some of these tracks I feel unsure about or as or as I like to refer to them as ISDs aka "Indecisive-Song-Decisions". They are songs I feel that are stuck in a "Limbo-state" of sorts where I'm undecided to keep them as is or modify further in the future. I'm sure a lot of a music artists like myself deal with this throughout their musical careers, sometimes coming back to certain songs to revise into newer updated versions. For example, the before and after of Demo Tracks becoming Official Studio Releases, and lastly I hope you enjoy listening to them.

Track Listing & Brief Backgrounds on Tracks :

1. An Invisible Light {2014} - 1:55

I started with the first riff you hear and elaborated more and more and came up with this song in just a few hours. I thought it deserved to be heard by many friendly ears.

2. Calm Callings {2014} - 5:33

I came up with this tune on the 3rd of February, 2014 and worked on it for a good week straight. I did a rough mix, but I think it passes by as a decent mix. Enjoy.

3. Gazing Up at the Past {2012} - 3:53

This was going to be a demo track for "Blinded by Shadows" an Unofficial Album Release" I was working on putting together back in (2012) as well as a Nature's Calling album concept.

4. Escape at Midnight (3:45AM) {2016} - 4:16

This song came to mind when I just happened to be playing a few third chords on my keyboard and I chose certain ones that went well together in sequence and that's where the Intro sequence or chords bloomed the rest of the song with additional synths as well as the early descending three-key entrance of the bass line.

The title came off from the top of my head starting the song around midnight-ish and then going to 3:45am in the morning (hence the subtitle in brackets) and making music is a passionate and wonderful escape into a meditation coming out of reality.

5. Night Crisis {2016} - 4:33

I drew some inspiration from the Soundtrack of the video game Splinter Cell: Conviction. There is a Dark Ambient score that plays during one of the stealth missions (I forget the name of the Mission) and I thought I would make a rendition or tribute to the Splinter Cell video game series for having some outstanding scores/soundtracks to bring the games to life.

about

Mikerosynth Toronto, Ontario

I've been going at making music since back in 2005 from being introduced to FL Studio by a friend. So ever since then, I have created quite a bit of concepts and ideas of songs. I went through some many names and finally landed on Mikerosynth, because I feel it just fits. I'm a one man group, but there's always room for more artists who'd want to join along with me. ... more
